Months ago, when some pundits (including a local minister) wrote editorials and/or letters to the editor about Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ", they worried about the potentially anti-Semitic messages of the movie. Right-wing nutballs absolutely crucified them for criticizing a movie without seeing it.
Funny, then, to watch these same groups call for theaters not to show Michael Moore's latest "Fahrenheit 9/11". I mean, they're not just criticizing the movie without having seen it, they are trying to censor it. Look, morons, if you're so worried about propaganda affecting the votes of millions this November, go shut down Fox News.
I hope I get a chance to see it so I can judge for myself.

Rush Limbaugh is claiming that Senator Harkin (I think) is trying to have him censored on Armed Forces Radio in Iraq. They carry 1 hour of his show Monday through Friday. Harkin said explicitly that he would like there to be some balance, but has never called for AFRadio to pull Limbaugh's show. So what does Rush do? He spent at least 1 full hour railing on about how Harkin (or whoever) is trying to censor him. Yet another example of how Rush uses misinformation to garner support from the dittoheads out there.
Not that my reply is directly related to your entry, but I felt there was some kinship of attitude between Limbaugh and the extreme conservative nutcases you're talking about.
Oh, and one has to wonder what deal Bush and company offered Russia's Putin to release the VERY TIMELY tidbit about Iraq plotting attacks in America after 9/11. More misinformation? Probably. And it will work like a charm.
